Michael Evans is our Senior Principal Environmental Scientist with over 20 years’ experience in the contaminated land management industry.
Michael is a trusted industry expert, having managed and delivered over 1,000 contamination investigation and remediation projects. Michael specialises in the technical evaluation of contamination risks, issues and liabilities, and the development of site-specific, risk-based assessment and management strategies. His experience ranges from site-specific assessments to multi-million dollar remediation and asset management programs, including appointment as the contamination subject matter expert to the $16.8 billon WestConnex project.
Michael has extensive experience in the assessment and management of contamination across industrial, commercial, open space and residential properties; refuelling facilities and bulk fuel terminals; operational railyards; maintenance facilities; the integration of contamination management within transport and infrastructure development projects; and the implementation of risk-based contamination protocols into construction and urban development projects.
Michael provides expert technical advice to clients across the private and public sectors, having successfully delivered outcomes for clients including Transport for NSW, Roads & Maritime Services, RailCorp / Sydney Trains, Sydney Motorways Corporation, Transurban, Westlink Services, Bluescope, Department of Defence, Mobil Oil, Caltex Australia, CSR, Waste Service NSW, Sutherland Shire Council and private development companies.
Michael focuses on successful and high quality project delivery, particularly with respect to risk / liability management, budget and time management, resource allocation, stakeholder engagement and liaison, and the management of workplace health and safety. Michael is a member of the Australian Land and Groundwater Association (ALGA), the Sustainable Remediation Forum (SuRF ANZ), the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ) and was on the Board Sub-Committee for ALGA Governance and Nominations (2014/2015).

Julie has been responsible for the design and implementation of research, investigation and remediation projects, over a range of media including soil, groundwater, sediments and air. She has worked on numerous (400+) contamination assessment and remediation projects and her experience is diverse, ranging from large industrial facilities such as mine sites, asphalt manufacturing plants, defence sites, manufacturing facilities, railway yards and refineries, through to putrescible and hazardous waste landfills, airport sites and a broad range of commercial facilities, such as service stations sites.
Julie is also a regular guest lecturer for the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Contaminated Sites Assessment, Remediation and Management (CSARM) Short Course Series.

He is an Exemplar Global certified Lead Auditor in environmental management systems and can advise on areas such as planning approvals and environmental impact documents at all levels, air, noise, water, biodiversity, waste management/ landfill, RMS specifications, data collection, environmental protection licences and liaision with a variety of government organisations.
Having over seven years of experience in the sustainability space using a variety of national and international reporting systems such as GRI G4 and ISCA, John has advised organisations of all sizes on excellence in environmental management and sustainability initiatives in ways that support and promote commercial goals.
